An excellent and very readable account of the background to and the construction of the Overland Telegraph Line. Lots of detail provided in a clear, concise and understandable way.

A must read account. Easily available on Ebay.

Sydney Mail 29 June 1872   Excellent overview of the project together with many details about the last gap, rates, the cable ships, etc. Very worthwhile reading.
